We are hearing a lot these days about AI… even more than hearing we are using AI but are we using it, wisely?

The New World we have entered into holds a great deal of responsibility. Why AI is great is that it helps us be better communicators (less reactive) but are we becoming less critical thinkers? We want to use AI as a tool to help us understand, but we also have the human aspect, where discernment comes into play and our intuition… Remember the old saying “if your friend jumps off the bridge are you going too” – if you solely listen to what A.I. and what it is feeding you then you stop thinking for yourself… we still need to ask ourselves and knowledgable people in their field, is this the right direction?

As a designer for many years, I’ve studied the new wave of what’s to come and I want to embrace it as a tool, however, when people used to say… “oh my cousin has photoshop they can do that”... Now we have people saying “oh look what AI did”… but designers of the future still have their knowledge of a good design, the understanding of marketing techniques that work and color theory.

“Art was known as self expression but good design has always been the designers great intuitive nature and the knowledge of the minds eye. I believe we should have guardrails and institute standards for AI’s use.”– June Tapia

Why use AI? And the answer is to help us with modest tasks but do not stop using your mind, your body, and your ability as a human being… we were given these gifts of discernment, intuition, and critical thinking to help us on our journey through life and that is what AI should be doing… “helping us” not hindering the very gifts we were given.
